I’m András Tornai. I build software, mostly on my own, and write here about what I learn from it.
For most of the last decade I worked across the stack – Java backends, plenty of frontend and web, and a stint in growth and product development. These days I’m building a small side project at maguskartya.app: an online tabletop platform for an old Hungarian card game called M.A.G.U.S. . This blog is for the lessons that come out of that work – observability habits, decisions about tooling, the small judgment calls that don’t show up in commit messages.
I prefer deep work to broad surface area. What I write here will be specific, technical, and short.
